Situation: Solterbeck's directors wanted to create a culture of unity across its business divisions by articulating an internal set of brand values and re-launching a reward and recognition program for its employees.

Challenge: Solterbeck has two distinct divisions within the business - incentive recognition and reward and travel, conference and events - each having grown up as independent silos and needing a stronger sense of unity. Also, as incentive, recognition and reward programs are part of Solterbeck's core business, it was essential that any rewards program they ran be of an exceptionally high standard.

Solution: Taylor & Grace created a simple visual language that brought the internal values to life in a non-intrusive way. The mugs were a subtle way of keeping the values top of mind for the employees and the fan deck of values was designed to be small enough to keep on a desk without it becoming overpowering. A thank you card was created and each employee was given a set to be handed out to their colleagues whose actions were in line with one of the values. An evolution of the values design was created by Taylor & Grace to freshen and re-launch the online employee Reward and Recognition program. The design firmly links and embeds the Solterbeck values into employees day to day behaviour. This variation of the visual language was applied to the online reward and recognition portal, linking the program with the offline brand values.

Result: The creative design has been fundamental to making the values a stimulating and inviting part of Solterbeck’s culture, creating a case study that demonstrates the power of strategically-designed reward and recognition presentation
